The government wants you to hate any big company that is successful. It's all part of the piece of puzzle to grow government and the taking away of more and more of your freedoms.
The politicians are all hypocrites - Al gore the big global warming liar is partner in the multi billion dollar carbon trading company (Hara).
They are all laughing all the way to banks folks - check out the background of your congressmen, they do not practice what they preach. They are lying to you in order to make money off of you. . .

Gore is a hypocrite, no doubt. His answer will be that he is buying "carbon offsets" through his own company so that this does not impact his carbon footprint.
Seriously, if he truly cared he would change his lifestyle.
If he actually thought AGW was real he would put a bunch of money into research and development, into his carbon offsets without needing to offset something he did. Instead he gets rich off a lot of people that are truly concerned about the environment.
People may call Obama the messiah, but Gore actually believes himself to be the messiah, or at least a John the Baptist type in the wilderness preparing the way.
Climate change must be seriously studied via science, but when an idiot like Gore does something like this it is worth laughing at. Climate science is very complex, and I don't think the scientists have it figured out as much as they think. But they have found (from their point of view) a useful idiot in Gore.

Look, some of us do what we are able and capable of doing to achieve a balance; between what harms the planet, and what we must do to comply with the law. The laws change rather slowly, but are always flowing downstream. The law cannot by itself create a human consciousness accepting of facts, when egos are in denial.

And who says it's a beach house? That's not in the article. It says "ocean view."
This is MONTECITO, for crissakes. You can see the ocean from pretty much anywhere in Montecito, from hundreds of feet above sea level.

It's his money, he can spend it any way he wants. This is a typical 'red herring' argument. The ocean levels will rise whether Al buys or doesn't buy a particular house. The data is firm. Burning fossil fuels adds massive amounts of CO2 to the atmosphere and that means over time more heat is retained than is radiated away. Anyone who doubts the physics of this just isn't paying attention. People will believe that a group of Jesus freaks found Noah's ark way up the side of a mountain placed there by a world wide flood 4,000 years ago, but they won't 'believe' massive amounts of hard core scientific data when it comes to the effects retained heat energy. Shazam...I never fail to be amazed!

You know, I'd almost be willing to let the planet heat up just to spite Al Gore.
As a matter of fact, I'll make a deal with all of the AGW believers. Scrap all legislation and talk of reducing CO2 today. As soon as all of Al Gore's companies go bankrupt (since they depend on CO2 reductions), I'll agree to an immediate 50% cut in carbon emissions. I'll sell my car and buy and an electric one and change every bulb in my house to CFL.
Well, whadya say??

So you are attributing the scientific basis of global warming on the answer of why AL Gore bought a $8.8 million beach house?
- Author UnknownLv 61 decade ago
It says "ocean->view< villa not "beach house". No wonder deniers can't get it right when they have difficulty reading.
