Why do some people believe in the God of the Bible ...when this God heard and ignored the screams of children?
and the weeping of their parents..... Matt.2 13-23
I really need people to think about this from a 21st century perspective..
The whole concept of it...discount free will, discount sins being forgiven etc. I need an answer to why it is in the Bible...God's words..why are these particular words so evil....?
Why were those childrens lives so cheap? Why trust a God that kills his own..and causes such suffering to their parents?
If this is just a story in the Bible..and a lie...then why trust it at all...
I'm not an atheist... nor a Christian now ...which is probably why this bothers me so much ..and always has done.

Because they - like their God - are supremely selfish and self-centered.

God looks at the big picture and wants people to be able to see it too. It is the battle between good and evil that we are in. If we were not in this battle we would never understand what is a stake. We would go about our business never seeing evil for what it is. But, do not think for one second that the wicked won't be punished for what they do to the children. And take comfort that God takes his children unto himself.

You are blaming God for the evil wicked people do? The logic of the atheist is astounding.
If God were to stop people from exercising their free will, you would all be dead - do you realize this?
Therefore everyone has free will to act as desired. Judgment day will reward all and undo all damage to the innocent done by the wicked who no longer exist for all eternity.

Here is the old testament verse that these verses are referring to, Jer. 31:15. Read the whole chapter 31 and then see if your understanding is changed. God Bless!

Why do you blame God for the acts of evil people? Herod did evil, not God!

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

just like im sure you've heard and ignored the screaming of people.
in my time of need, God gave me peace. just like in their time of need, God gave them peace. God does not ignore anyone or anything. we cause this on each other...so it is US that is doing the ignoring. get over yourself.

They don't accept that god is responsible. They believe that those people asked for it, and that they brought it down on themselves. It's not god's fault, honest mister! You just watch out for some of the nonsensical excuses you get here.
