Do you really think that the Catholic Church will stop "abusing" kids?

I mean, after all, the church was created by the imperial families of Rome when Rome was burned down." Rome wasn't really burned down, but a lot of royal family homes were. The royal families had sex with little boys for as long as there has been royal anything in Rome. They don't make unwanted heirs that way.

And for people to try and changes the Church now, after 2000 years of unaccountabilty, is asking these kinds of people to change their nautre. Little boys don't make babies, and the owners of the church want sex. So, they bounce on little boys. It's protestant churchs that boinks little girls. But don't worry, it's all for good.

they have.... notice all the casses are from the PAST. see they have made great strides to change the people they allow into their priesthood AND teaching everyone even remotely assicoated with their schools. it's the non-catholic religion we have to worry about today and teachers and family members....

(btw your comment about the protestants churches is WAY wrong)

the majority of child sexual abuse is done through a family member - 60% and 30/36 for people within the family but not blood relation.

In US schools, according to the US Department of Education[145], "nearly 9.6% of students are targets of educator sexual misconduct sometime during their school career." In studies of student sex abuse by male and female educators, male students were reported as targets in ranges from 23% to 44%.[145] In U.S. school settings same-sex (female and male) sexual misconduct against students by educators "ranges from 18-28% of reported cases, depending on the study"[146]

The number of K-12 public and private school students in 1996 who have been or will be sexually abused by a member of the school staff is nearly 7 million of 51,331,000.

Between 1% and 5% of teachers sexually abuse or harass students.

At least a quarter of all school districts in the United States have dealt with a case of staff sexual abuse in the past ten years.

Most cases of sexual abuse of students by teachers are never reported.

In nearly half of the cases, suspects were accused of abusing more than one student.

Only two cases were cases of false accusations; less than 1 percent of the cases studied.

No type of school was immune to abuse: public or private, religious or secular, rich or poor, urban or rural.

Responses to Allegations of Sexual Abuse of Students by Staff

38.7% of the teachers resigned, left the district, or retired

    17.5% were spoken to informally

15% were terminated or not re-hired

11.3% received a formal verbal or written reprimand

8.1% were suspended and then resumed teaching

7.5% were cases where the superintendent determined that the teacher hadn’t meant to sexually abuse

Of the nearly 54% of abusers who resigned, weren’t rehired, retired, or were terminated, superintendents reported that 16% were teaching in other schools and that they didn’t know what had happened to the other 84%. All but 1% of these teachers retained their teaching license.

    Teacher Student Sex Legalities

In 20 states, it is not a crime for school employees—including teachers, administrators, and coaches—to have sex with students aged 16 and over.

In 23 states, it is not a crime for school employees to have sex with students aged 17 and over.

In 45 states, it is not a crime for school employees to have sex with students aged 18 and over.

In 16 states, it is a crime for adults in a position of trust and authority—teachers, administrators, and coaches among them—to have sex with students under the age of 18.

BTW IT IS NOT THE CHURCH THAT IS HARMING THIS CHILDREN.... IT'S THE PEDOPHILES.

If the Bible is your only source of truth, then you cannot possibly say that Mary had any child other than Jesus. There is no record of her giving birth to a second, third or fourth child or whatever. There is no record of her having sex with Joseph, for that matter, even though the Bible records other couples having sex (Adam & Eve, David & Bathsheba, etc.) "Firstborn" also applies to only children. An only child is also first born and last born. In Biblical times, the role of the firstborn was very important because he had obligations to his parents. An only child would be called firstborn, too, and hold all those obligations. As for the "brothers" -- as previously cited, Aramaic is loose on these definitions, and a "brother" could easily be a cousin. And even if the brothers of Jesus really were brothers, there are other ways to get brothers than your mother giving birth to them. They could have been adopted, for example -- yes, orphans were adopted back in those days, as life expectancy was a lot lower than it is today. I personally agree with the theory that the brothers were Jesus' step-brothers, children of Joseph from his first marriage, Joseph being a widower. Women died in childbirth rather often in those days, and Joseph was held to be older than Mary by quite a bit. Further proof that the brothers were older - when Jesus stayed at the temple at age 12, Mary returned with Joseph to find Jesus. Had there been younger children (and there most certainly would have been if she wasn't remaining a virgin, since she had no artificial birth control), Mary could not possibly have journeyed back a whole day with all those little kids, especially whatever baby she would have been nursing. Also, Jesus gave Mary to John's care as He died on the Cross. Had Mary given birth to additional children, Jesus would not have done this; her other kids would have cared for her as a matter of family honor. The fact that Jesus needed somebody to take care of His mother indicates He was her only child.

The priests you speak of are now dead or in jail. You Catholic bashers really need to do your research. These homosexual priests infiltrated the church in the 40's,50's and 60's . The Catholic Church has had in place for many years a variety of safeguards to protect children.

The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ in 33AD

Do you ever think that fathers will stop abusing their kids? And do you think that Boy Scout leaders will stop abusing children? Do you think that police and lawyers will stop abusing children? What about doctors and nurses? Will they stop abusing children? And what about the rabbis, ministers, pastors, imams, who all abuse children? As you can see, child molestation is not restricted to the Roman Catholic church.

When you pretend that only Catholic priests are child abusers, you make it that much harder for children who have been molested to come forth and tell the truth. They will be afraid to say something because you think only Catholic kids get molested. Child molestation is a problem in every religion, every culture, every country, every profession, and in far too many families...all around the world. And we ALL need to work together to stop this problem...not just bash Catholic priests!

    God bless!

it is interesting when one just makes up fanciful history to match their bigotry and prejudice. The Church was founded in 33AD at Pentecost by the disciples under the authority of Jesus. The Bible History and patristic evidence testifies to this truth. As for the sexual abuse of children this is done by individuals and not by the Church. God bless!

it is not the church it is a few deviants

if muslims aren't allowed to be lumped in with terrorists why should all catholics bear the brunt of the actions of a few?

Not as long as it remains a male dominated institution, and priests are not allowed to marry. What a tragedy.

I would have to say no based on something a catholic priest told me. He stated that the rc church is a church of sinners and that God love sinners. It almost gave me the feeling that sins were being encouraged or at least ignored within their ranks. Maybe I was reading the guy wrong but I've never been able to shake off my impression of what his words meant to me.

No, because they believe if they go to church on Sunday and eat holy crackers they will be forgiven so they keep repeating their same mistakes.

Source(s): I think religion is the loss of sanity.
