What would you suggest as a fast-growing windbreak tree?

We live in North East Indiana (Zone 5 or 6, I think) and we're looking for fast growing trees to use as a windbreak along the one edge of our property. The top 1-2 feet of ground is a rich black soil and below that is tough grey clay.

We've heard that Quaking Aspen, Lombardy Poplar, Hybrid Poplar are all good choices....what do you think?

I bought about 20 bare-root poplar trees to plant as wind breaks around my house in Iowa. Planted in a staggered double row, about 9 feet apart, It took them like 4 years to grow 20 foot tall and provide a nice wind break and privacy screen for my back yard.
