What is the significance of the Nu-Rho symbol?

I've seen the Chi-Rho symbol (looks like an X super-imposed on a P) signifying Christ (Chi and Rho being the first two letters in the Greek word Christ). However, on a visit to Mother Bethel A.M.E. church in Philadelphia, I noticed one of their stained glass windows had a Nu-Rho symbol (instead of the X, there was an N). The tour guide couldn't tell us the significance of this symbol and I haven't been able to find anything about it online. Any ideas?

Nika is Greek for victor and sometimes you see it in conjunction with Chi for christ the victor but I have never heard of it paired with Rho. Is it possible that the artwork was commissioned and donated by a Nu Rho chapter of a fraternity or sorority? Either that or the letters have unique significance to African American history.
