need help with wall and trim colors?

for a bedroom. The bedding is black and white with hot pink sheets. The drapes are white with black pattern. Currently the walls are an off white or cream color. Really wanted to keep the wall color. But painting it is an option too. The trim is what i am having trouble with. Have tried samples in a med. grey, white, taupe and hot pink. None look right. Am considering a gloss black but think it may box the room in too much. The room is only 12x12 in size. The trim I need to paint is the crown moulding and 2 large window frames. Any ideas? I am at a total loss.

Sounds like your wall color is throwing you off. I know you said you would like to keep it but it's really hard to match that with a trim that would look right. I really love a bright white trim personally. It always makes the room look lighter, brighter and classic. A light grey wall with the bright white trim would look awesome. The grey would be a nice "mixture" of the bedding colors and the pink could be your accent "pop" color.

Your trim would actually look better in black, it will not box the room in at all, it will make it flow evenly and give it some height. This with the off white will look very classy and trendy at the same time. Don't forget when you accessorize to use different shades of white, black, and pinks. It will bring the room together a lot better and you will really enjoy sitting in there for hours. It will look great.

Definitely white. Find a soft, creamy white. It will look great. Is the trim thru then rest of the house white? If not, can you paint the trim to match the rest of the trim in the house. That would look best. All trim the same. You can use latex (water base) in satin or semi-gloss for more shine

for the trim i would use either a pure clean white, or a pale lavender, but it really depends on the shade of "off white" that you currently have on the walls.
