Was wondering if my husband increased his distribution to his 401K or we started investing in an ira would that help us to avoid paying such an increase in state taxes by next year? Or if this won't work, is there anything else we can do? I am looking for legit ways to avoid the higher taxes. Moving out of IL is not an option right now.

for a bedroom. The bedding is black and white with hot pink sheets. The drapes are white with black pattern. Currently the walls are an off white or cream color. Really wanted to keep the wall color. But painting it is an option too. The trim is what i am having trouble with. Have tried samples in a med. grey, white, taupe and hot pink. None look right. Am considering a gloss black but think it may box the room in too much. The room is only 12x12 in size. The trim I need to paint is the crown moulding and 2 large window frames. Any ideas? I am at a total loss.

We have a 16ft runabout open bow. We are having difficulty finding a really good boat cover that wont tear on our window from the weight of water and snow. We have tried propping up the center of the cover, with a pole, but that makes tears also.

We are tired of spending hundreds on boat covers that tear before a year of use. Can you point us in the right direction? We have Overtons catalog, but there are so many to chose from!

Also, what can we use to keep the water and ice from collecting in the first place?

They start barking and howling as soon as I shut the door behind me when I leave. I have been told they will do this for hours after I leave the house. I have tried leaving the tv on, or a radio to help them, but it really doesnt help much. They sit in the windows and bark, and I know the neighbors hate it! I am home all day, but do have to leave the house to shop, etc. Should I lock them a room? They dont have kennel cages, so that wont work. What can I do to make them stop this?

My husband and I fell in love with a green quaker parrot named Bud at a local pet store. We were told by the petstore that he is 10 years old and says about 10 things. We are really considering adopting him. But I think our biggest concern is that we have 3 dachsunds that like to bark, especially when we are not at home. I am afraid that the dogs barking would really stress out Bud. I am a stay at home mom, but of course there are times i leave the house for several hours.

we've been together for 10 years and married for 2. In the last 6 to 8 months, he has become distant and short with me. Our big fights are usually about his fri nite bar nite with the guys. He blows off me and even his own son who he is supposed to pick up fri nites. I used to go with him and we would all have fun, but i got bored with it.

Now, he goes and stays out till 2am. Lots of times, he does not answer his cell. He says he doesnt get the cell reception, and it is true, i've been to this bar.

It just seems that he avoids time with me. He'd always rather be out doing other things with his friends.

I talked to him last night about this, and he told me in a nutshell that I need to get my own social life, so he doesnt feel guilty for having his own time for himself. And that i am boring to him.

I admit, i prefer staying home. I enjoy the simple things in life, like taking walk, or reading a book, watching tv, etc. These things are boring to him, all of a sudden after being together for 10 years. That hurt.

I few weeks ago, i went out of town to visit my sister. I was gone for 9 days. When i got home, i asked him if he missed me and he said not really, cause i called him every day. We did have a fight over the phone while i was gone. Cause he was supposed to take care of my 15 yr old daughter, and the second night i was gone. He went to the bar after work with his friends and left my daughter home alone till late, instead of coming home. He didnt answer my calls, and i was really pissed at him. He also had a house party while i was gone, something we never do while i am home.

What the hell is going on? Its like he resents me all of a sudden. For what, i dont know. For being a good wife and mom and expecting the same from him?

I think he is being selfish, and he resents me for it.

What is his deal?

i tried vinegar, and it works pretty well but doesnt get it all off. I am afraid to try clr and such because i dont want to ruin the polished granite surface. The build up is white rings directly underneath the faucet handles in my bathroom. anybody have any advice?

My ex husband and I rotate years when claiming our daughter as a dependant on taxes. Last year he claimed her and got the 300 from the stimulus payment for her. This year i claim her, do i get the 300 that i didnt recieve last year? She lives with me and my husband.

live in IL. And when my husband and I recieve a refund for our state taxes, why do we recieve a 1099 for the state refund the following year? Arent we being taxed twice on this money then? Once when it is deducted from our pay, and twice when we have to claim that refund as taxable income the following year?

I dont currently have a cell. But I have in the past few years. I know nothing about all the new phones out right now. Except I dont need anything fancy like an iphone.

I dont text very much, just would use for calls a few times a day. I want something feminine(pretty color) that looks cool. I prob. wouldnt use the internet on it much either. So I woulnt pay for a data plan. And I want one that I can use songs I download for ringtones, that has bluetooth. and maybe a camera.

I know i want to go with att because that is what all my friends and family have. But what kind of phone would you suggest?

I have been with my husband for 9 years now. My husband and his ex girlfriend have a now 11 year old son. I came into the picture a few months after they split. It has been a battle since day one of their split to get her to let my husband see his son on holidays. They have had to go back and forth to court numerous times for visitation and child support. The court papers say that they have to rotate years and holidays. But she always has plans with her family, and just is never home when we try to pick up the son for holiday visits. The son is old enough now to tell us that they just wont be home.

I am just fed up with it. Every holiday he is not with us just never feels complete. My husband is a very passive person. And he just doesnt want to call the cops on her or anything. He tried that several years ago, and the cops said they really couldnt do anything but take a report, cause she wasnt home.

I really thought after a few years, she would grow up and quite being so ignorant and selfish but i dont think that is going to happen after 9 years.

I guess i am just angry and need to vent. Because the son told us last night before he was dropped off at home, that he wont be home again for Thanksgiving. We have not had him for Thanksgiving in about 7 years. We had him for Christmas morning last year only because we kept him overnight on Christmas eve. It was our court ordered year to have him, but his ex got really angry and told us that we wont ever see him again for a holiday. So far, she has stuck with that. i dont think there is anything we can do about it. She allows us to get him every other weekend. And I guess we just need to accept that for the holidays, we just dont get to see him.

OK, i need a new car next year. And it was a total toss up between getting a new Honda Accord or the new Camero. I know, totally different options. I love my current Honda Accord, but have heard complaints with the new ones. So, I was really digging the thought of the new 2010 Camero.

I know the price will be 20-30K for the Camero. I remember how hard it was to get your hands on the 2005 Ford Mustang, and figure it will be just as hard to find the new Camero when they hit the market.

I have never bought a brand new car and I am assuming that I just go to my local dealer and tell them what i want, and they will find it for me. Is that how it works? I dont want to get ripped off or anything. Should I wait until next summer when there should be more on the market? Anybody have any good advice?

Also, anybody know how much room in the backseats of the camero? Hopefully its not like the Mustangs where you cant actually fit 2 adults back there with any kind of legroom.

I am redecorating my daughter's room. We saw on a recent tv movie large different colored and sized circles that were put on the ceiling of this room. We want to find them, but so far have had no luck. They looked vinyl and of course would want something removable. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

I already know about the pay as you go phones, but those seem to have too many hidden charges, and by the end of the month you might as well just pay a montly bill.

I dont talk a lot on the cell, maybe once or twice a day. So paying 40 a month for a contract seems ridiculous to me.

I've noticed that lots of people seem to like to buy the unlocked cellphones, why? is that somehow cheaper in the long run?

My husband and I are taking our 2 kids(15,11) to Mackinac Island Michigan for a long weekend and would like to do some tent camping after. Any suggestions on where? I was thinking the Upper Peninsula would be a good place but have never been there. Any ideas?

We bought a fixer upper that needs the foundation completely replaced. It is 80 yrs old and has buckled terribly. We are pretty handy people and planning on doing this ourselves. We cant decide if we should jack up the house and just pour new concrete walls, or jack it up and do one wall at a time with concrete block. The block seems more cost efficient. Any thoughts on which one to use? Also, we will have to tear off a front and back porch before digging. Anybody know if we can prop up the porch roofs so we dont have to rebuild the roofs?

And as far as drainage, should we go with french drains or drain tile?

My instructor told the class that if we have anything on our records we would not be hired by the state. Because we would not be credible witnesses for the state. I got into a little trouble about 9 years ago when i was 25. I stole some money from an employer (500) and provided beer for an underage person. Should I look for another field of work? Please dont be mean, I have never done anything bad before or since then.
