new NHL all-star game format?

here's my idea:

24 of the best players in the league are invited to the game by means of a "selection night" show, presented on TV in a similar manner as the draft... the commissioner will call out names to eventually form 4 teams of 4 players for a 3 on 3 game plus goalies... for example, based on votes and computer analysis, the commissioner announces the following teams, which changes every season:

ORANGE & PURPLE TEAM:

Ovechkin, Statsny, Greene, Lundqvist

BLACK & GOLD TEAM:

Crosby, Kopitar, Jovanovski, Luongo

RED & WHITE TEAM:

Nash, Bergeron, Boyle, Anderson

PURPLE & BLACK TEAM:

Marleau, Plekanec, Foote, Bryzgalov

TEAL & BLUE TEAM:

Callahan, H. Sedin, Seabrook, Miller

and so on and so on... a playoff is set up and each team will play 3 on 3 plus goalies in a single round elimination week...

Update:

so far all of your answers are lame...

Play games each week? There is this thing called the regular season that may get in the way you know, I doubt teams would allow for such things to happen, with injury, fatigue, and scheduling all playing important roles in disallowing your weekly all star tournament.

East v. West I constantly theory it develop into extraordinary that the NHL even theory-approximately doing NA v. international. to not get all afterschool particular yet, anybody's an NHL hockey participant, there is no reason to attraction to greater interest to their nationality. heavily, hockey fan's have warmed as much as eu gamers plenty over the final ten years (even Don Cherry has lightened up on the concern), whether it wasn't constantly like that. perhaps the NHL felt because of the fact that's in general North people who vote for the All Stars they could point the taking part in container so greater international gamers get a shot. completely pointless, perhaps ten or fifteen years in the past this could be been a sturdy theory, now no person quite cares the place their sought after gamers are from, purely who they play for. I surely think of it's time to adhere with East v. West.

  • For me, it would be better if you got a captain for each conference and named them captain. I.E.. Team Ovechkin vs. Team Sedin. Then from there each player will choose a player not matter what conference. 1st overall should be chosen by shootout match by each captain. Seems confusing but it could work.

  • The NHLPA requires that ALL teams have at least one representative. 24 players...30 teams....at least 6 teams would be without a representative...that would land you in court with the union!

Here's a better idea for the All Star Game.... Don't have one because it's lame and a waste of time.
