How fast can my lip piercing hole close?

My new job doesn't allow me piercings and i work 6 hour shifts daily. My piercing is a 16 gauge. How fast can it close? I had it for about 2 weeks.

Don't take even give it a chance to close..

Get a clear retainer.. Because if its not fully healed it could close in that period of time.

And re-piercing it yourself can be painful, dangerous & it could become infected.

It is still a new piercing but it all depends on how fast your body heals. My ear piercings have not closed to this day and I took them out 2 weeks into getting them pierced. It has been 1 year now but my lip on the other hand closed in less than an hour after taking it off. Even after having it for 1 year prior. Same with my tongue. Good luck with your piercing. It's a pretty cool experience while it lasts :)

Have any of your other piercings closed? I'm able to take my tongue ring out for months at a time where other people cant take theirs out for more than a day. I think it depends on the person, the fishing line is a very smart cheap way to solve that. Just be careful that you dont irritate it then it will close faster.

if you only had it for 2 weeks its going to close VERY fast when i worked when i had my spider bites i used to put fishing line in them no one could tell. the lip retainers never used to fit my lip lol. but i had mine for years. if i didnt put anything in them they would start to close that same day. but if its only been two weeks it can start with in hours.
