How much milk does your 13 month old drink a day?

I am starting to wein off breast milk but my son is not a fan of cows milk either. We buy organic cows milk 2%, as my son can't do the whole milk. Today he is pushing the bottle away from the sitter and did to me the other day. Since we're trying to do more cows milk, and since I am trying to stop breastfeeding all together, we do one of each. I am worried he isn't getting enough milk. On the weekends I can go without giving him any milk! Maybe a yogurt and some cheese, but no milk. Can you tell me what you do for your little one, and let me know if you think this amount is safe? I still nurse in the am/pm, but today didn't even get to do the AM feeding before work. I am really getting full, but think I can make it til I get home, and even try feeding him tonight.

Please share - thanks!

Update:

I would love to continue nursing him, but he just doesn't seem interested anymore. I was leaving it up to him on when he wanted to stop, so am finally getting his cues. So from this week on, I am okay with droppng it. I will go by his lead on when done is done...

None of my children liked cow's milk, after they had been breast fed (I guess they loved their Mommy Milk!), however, I did get them to drink a little milk each day, in addition to the yogurt and cheese, by making them some very weak tea, and adding a little milk to that (I know, I'm English, but this is what we do!).

By 13 months of age, the two younger children were eating a good varied diet so not drinking cow's milk didn't do them any harm - my son is 6' 1" and my daughter is 5' 9", my youngest child was breast fed until she was 22 months and hardly ever drank cow's milk at all - she did like a little soy milk now and again, and at 12 years old she is 5' 7", so again, it didn't stunt her growth!

See if you can keep breast feeding him morning and night for a little longer, that reduces his need for cow's milk - even if he has a little each day, as long as he is eating well, he'll be fine.

Noone has mentioned that milk will fill up the child, leaving no room for other foods with good nutritional value. Just an added thought.
