Somewhat. My church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America had a national church council in August of 2009 that passed a controversial tenement for our church. This involved allowing gay people to be members and to allow gay pastors to shepherd churches. They want to be socially acceptable with the world.

I was not happy about it. It clearly goes against Scripture. I looked around for other churches, but my pastor told me I should stay. According to him, a small group with millions of dollars to campaign with managed to get this thing passed. It's up to the individual churches whether they will implement this or not. My pastor stressed to me emphatically, It WILL NOT happen in this church. The majority of ELCA church members don't agree with it. They should have known better after what's going on with the split over this same issue in the Episcopal church.

I have no problem with emerging churches in general, as long as they stick to the Bible.... some are rumored not to. Post moderns need to have an enormous respect for the Scriptures, and it should show....
