Would you get mad if a store or bakery refused to write your child's name on a birthday cake?

Someone tried to sue Walmart because thy refused to put the child's name on the birthday cake. The child's name is Hitler. I would refuse to write certain names too.

I've heard about that too. The child's name was actually Adolf and he has a sister called Aryan.

I would get mad if they wouldn't write my (future) children's names because I'm not going to use anything inflammatory... I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't write Matilda or Oliver on a cake.

But if my child's name was Adolf, I'd try and understand that certain names can be very hurtful to people who may have relatives killed by Hitler, Stalin etc.

I guess it would depend on the circumstances.

Moral of the story: Don't name your kid after famous assassins / dictators / people guilty of genocide.

So stores and public markets have the right to refuse any one who does not go along with their principles? What if the child's name was Malcom X, or Louis Farrakhan, or Charlie Manson or Joseph Stalin, or Osama Bin Laden. All names that imply strong political or racial principles that may go against the stores. I doubt that the store would refuse writing any of those names and if they did I can imagine the media frenzy against the store that would ensue. Since when do stores decide to refuse business because they do not approve of the individuals name? This is nothing but the typical weak minded pcbs that has done nothing for this country except erode our freedom and turn the brave into the tame.

To be honest, it's not the company's business. Sure, obviously wasn't an excellent idea of parents part to name their kid after a mass-murderer, but Walmart's bakery is not set up to judge what names go on cakes, they're there to make the cakes, and make a profit.

If I worked there I would just make the cake anyway, regardless of what I thought. Should hospitals refuse to treat that child because he/she is named Hitler?

What parent in their right mind would name their child Hitler? I think that the person suing Wal-Mart, lied about child's name, knowing that Wal-Mart would not write the name, thereby giving this person a reason to try and sue. However, in a court of law, this person would have to prove that their son's real name was Hitler. I have not heard of this case, but I doubt that the guy won anything.

I would refuse to write certain names as well.

And the parents of that child are racist idiots. Named all their children after Nazi murderers. The last I heard their children taken away from them, I hope they never got them back.

EDIT: I wouldn't have to worry about someone not writing my childs name on their birthday cake because I'm not a racist moron that cursed their child witch such a horrid name.

Source(s): Edit: Their kids names were Adolf Hitler, Aryan Nation, Honzlynn Hinler. The store refused to write "Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler" And they refused like many places would. I saw on Nancy Grace that when they first got the call they thought it was a joke and hung up the phone. When the parents called back and got snippy they told them to take their business else where. Which is understandable.

i wouldnt ask the bakery to. I'd just make the cake myself, or at least put the name on myself. that makes it so much more personal.

I'd never write Hitler on a birthday cake, or anything else associated with celebration.

Children with racist names?........check (Adolf Hitler, JoyceLynne Aryan Nation & Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell)

    Illiterate white trash parents?.......you betcha!!

Source(s): I say illiterate because the racist idiots were too stupid to even get their third daughter's name right! Hitler's right hand man was Heinrich Himmler.

a business has a right to refuse service to customers. I think those parents are disgusting, but oh well, they have the right to be stupid asshats.
