College or Air Force First?

I've decided I want to join the Air Force and become a vehicle mechanic after I graduate and I also decided I want to go to college and get a degree in agronomy at SDSU. What I can't decide is if I want to go to college first or join the Air Force. I really don't want to put off college because I'm worried I won't want to do it after 4 years in the military and I think it'd be more fun right after high school. But I'm worried about finances I'm sure I'll be able to pay for college through student loans but it'd be a lot easier to just have the military pay for it. I also have a girlfriend who I'd like to spend a lot more time with before I join the Air Force. What should I do first? And please don't mention the ROTC because I don't think I'm good enough to get it.

College first - your opportunities will be much better in the AF with a degree. But only you know whether you are mature enough to make the best of college first - a lot of people go berserk with too much sudden freedom and too many grown-up demands. If you have any doubts about your discipline or maturity level, then I would say AF first and then you can have more $ for college. The military will slap any irresponsibility or bad discipline habits right out of you, particularly if you want to get the most from the experience. Good luck either way!

College first. If you go into the Air Force first, you will be in for 4 long years. That's 4 years of being in something you might not enjoy and being around people you can't get away from. Give college a try first, you can always join the Air Force if college isn't for you. Not so with joining the military first.

Absolutely college first! You can join the Air Force as an officer if you have a college degree- trust me, that is what you want to do! If you change your mind you can always drop out of college after a semester or so and go into the Air Force- but if you change your mind in the Air Force, you can't drop out to go to college! Think about it. Good luck!

College. Having a college degree will get you further in the military. You can go in a higher rank and you will have more options and opportunities. And alot of people who join the military and plan to go to college later never do it.

If you go into the Air Force first, I believe you can get big help in paying for college.

first off id like to say you seem like an awesome guy. my dad and cousin were wrestlers just like you, and ive always had a love for the sport. well - my best advice is to to pursue joining the military. youre dad would be really proud of you and it would be the best thing to do down the road. it also sounds like the college youre in isnt really doing much for you, so maybe its time to drop it.. seems like youve got a lot of ambition and are positive about the future. since youre confused, i think the best thing for you to do is talk to someone in person (like a family member or friend). good luck with everything and keep on pinning!!

If you can pay for it go to college and enroll in the Air Force ROTC... Then you may become and officer in the Air Force

simple... ive been thinking on the same, but is better to get your degree first, then you get paid more. what you can do is go to a CC and get your associates degree. then join and have them pay for your bachelor's o master's degree. besides you'll join as an officer if you go to college first.

Do college first, it will get it out of the way so you won't have to worry about it later :3
