what are you thoughts on.....?

... the saying "well, they beat my team... So i hope they go all the way and win the cup!"

Do you want that said team to win the cup? or are you sour that they beat your team and hope they lose?

It's not good to think about your own team losing to losers. That means they've bested you, but they're still not the best--so you never would've had a chance.

Personally, I say if they beat my team, I hope they lose in a horribly embarrassing defeat. Maybe I'm just bitter, but my emotions get wrapped up in the game and I'd rather a team I don't care about win than a team who gave me fresh wounds.

Source(s): PS: I have only one time rooted for the team that beat us--and that was because they had such impressive style and skill. That was a few years back when the Oilers beat the Sharks.

Why hello, Miss Kimberly. Long time no see. I hope all is well.

I kind of feel that way about the Habs. I wouldn't mind if they won the Cup. I would be happy for Canada. Also, it would be cool if the Habs kept their tradition alive of winning a Cup every decade.

On the other hand, I also have reasons for not minding if San Jose or Chicago won the Cup. I won't root for Boston and obviously I CAN'T root for the Flyers... Lol.

Personally I am a Blackhawks fan and if they would have lost to the Canucks, I would not have wanted the Canucks to win. Not because I am anti Canucks or because they beat my team, but because I just dont care for them (Not to sound rude). If the Blackhawks go out against the Sharks, I have no reason to root for a team, I will watch the cup but with no bias.

Lolz if i'm the player, yes I might be a little frustrated with how I performed, but I'll end up wanting the team that beat me to win.

Another factor is how they played, did I think they deserve to win?

As a fan watching, I might have a second favourite team, so I'd probably support my secon favourite. =)
