Is polyethylene flammable?

I'm looking to buy a gazebo it's safe to barbecue under. All the ones I've found are made from either polyester (which I know is flammable) or polyethylene. Gazebo needs to be flame retardant in order to comply with health and safety regulations!

If polyethylene isn't flammable a reference to go with your answer would be VERY helpful!

yes and also softens dramatically as temperature goes up.

You can buy canvas gazebos but they are of course more expensive aand are also flamable but less than the ones you mention.

    Polyethylene: extract from below site:

Heat Resistance - retains toughness & pliability over a wide temperature range, but density drops off dramatically above room temperature.

Be sure before you use this - Polyethylene Tricol is used to pop bottles, have you seen what happens when you put an empty one [or full] near a fire?
