As subtle as a ________?
I need a simile that will work in this context but IS NOT : Subtle as a gun, sledgehammer, punch/slap to the face, or flying brick.
Author Mary Jane is about as subtle as __________________ when it comes to foreshadowing. The amount she gives away is ridiculous, or the symbolism she tries to get across is painfully obvious.
thanks! :)

I'm a bit confused with your fill in the blank as to the word subtle actually means tender, soft, delicate, and so forth. While the word simile infers you are comparing the word subtle with another word that is subtle. so what should be there is something like "As subtle as the pedal of a flower" while you seem to be wanting "As subtle as the edge of a rock" But either way it should be easy to find something eventually.
