I think people here are only constesting the punishment of the law itself. You pass a red light you pay a fine, you enter the country illegally you get deported. I think the punishment should measure the crime, some feel deportation is not the correct punishment for the crime. I beg to differ however I know others have different opinions too.

I guess it presents the limit on where the government can levy taxes. Other than that, there is no reason to call that open land a border, except to keep Americans from going into Mexico.

They're going to create a North American Union anyway. People in Europe were crying about immigration in the 80s and their politicians did nothing about it because they knew eventually there would be a European Union.

Why any borders at all. Why not just let people come and go anywhere around the world, at will?
