It helps if you also give the manufacturers name. I was able to google your model number and found it is a Poulan brand. The gas mix is 40:1 or 3.2 oz.of two cycle oil per gallon of gas. If you want to use an empty quart oil bottle to mix just a little gas / oil so a gallon doesn't sit around and go bad, use 8/10 ths of an ounce of oil per quart.

Only three things can go wrong. Replace the spark plug and then pour about a teaspoon of gas down the carb. If it starts and dies, the problem is the carb and not electric. If it won't start, then it is electric and you need to take it to someone with the meters to test and see what is wrong.

If it is the carb, then remove the fuel line from the carb and see if gas is coming out of the fuel line. If it is, then the carb is plugged. If gas is not coming out of the fuel line, replace the fuel line and filter inside the gas tank. The fuel line cost about 24 cents per foot, and the filter is around $1.50.

Once you have gas flowing to the carb, give it a minute for the carb to fill and then try starting it again. If it still won't start, remove the carb and clean it. It is very simple and anyone can take a small engine carb apart and put it back to gether. Just be careful not to tear the gaskets or loose any parts. Better yet, for most small carbs, you can purchase a rebuild kit for a couple of dollars that has all new gaskets and parts you will need.

There is a spring under the float lever that will fall out if not careful. And prior to taking the carb apart, gently turn both idle screws all the wat in. Write down how many turns it took for each screw. Then remove the screws. When you have cleaned the carb and go to re instal the idle screws, turn them all the way in, and then back them out the number of turns you have written down.

Once apart, wash the carb with gasoline, run a very fine wire through all openings and blow air through. Let dry and put it back together. It should run like new after that.

The spark plug should use a 13/16 socket or a 5/8 socket do not use the monkey wrench and also after you put the new plug in or clean the older one ,if it has a gas push bulb on it you need to press it till it gets full of gas and if it isnt getting full of gas you need to replace the hoses running from the gas tank ,cause if a weed eater sets for longer than a year the gas lines will dry rot and crack and you will not crank it with the cracks in it ,let me know how this helps you out,but after you press the bulb and it does fill up and the plug is fine and still not cranking take the breather cover off and spray some carb cleaner in it and see if it will run without cover for a min. and then put it back together ............

i would take it in to get a repair things can go wrong when you don't use them for a while and they should be able to fix the spark plug
