Please Help: What's the best way to deal with this?
I got home yesterday and my 4 yr old lab had a cut under his eye. It was only about a cm long(if that) and one about 2 cm long was there too. It was a little red but this morning it looked like it was scabbing over. Should I do anything about this? I washed it but I can't use neosporin because he'll get angry. (please remember,he is a lab)

Buy some Betadine and use a q-tip to apply it on the cut. It will prevent infection, and as far as I know, it doesn't burn or hurt the dog. If it looks like it's getting infected (swelling, redness, pus) take him to the vet.

Scabbing over means it is healing, so I would just leave it be, and only take him to a vet if it fails to go in a week or two, or if it looks like it it infected or something. Do you know how he got the cut? If you do, make sure there is no way it can happen again, because even though it is only a minor injury, next time it could be worse...

dont worry a little bit about i know it is hard.
but one day the same thing happened to mine.
and i was like what should i do and everything.
it sure enough healed after a while ad my dog was perfectly fine.
i do not recommend doing anything to make your
dog scared let nature take its path. and it will back to your original dog

He might have been scratching with his foot and since they cant pull in there claws or nails he might have scratched himself. I think he will be ok if they arent very big. If its scabbing thats good.
