R&P, has anyone ever seen a moose wandering their city streets? What are some "wild animal" related songs?
Yesterday we had a young moose that must have strayed from its Mother. It probably followed the river system from the Rocky Mountains that eventually leads to the city. He wandered all over the downtown business districts, China Town etc, until he was caught.
Here's a 20 picture slide show...

Calgary Alberta Canada (where I live) has a population of just over 1 million. Here's a few pictures of a portion of the downtown area of the city:

Has anyone else ever had any sort Wild Life encounter(s) within the city they live in? I've had several here over the years, including a mountain lion, black bear, skunks, badger, and coyotes.
Music Question:
Name some songs about wild animals.
Thanks.
Wow, I had a similar tent experience with a friend of mine and a grizzly while camping in the Kananaskis. He was fresh off the boat from the UK, and had never done any camping. He was a big guy (about 300 lbs) with a clean shaven head. Picture a WWE wrestler, and you'll get an idea of what he looked like. On the first night out (and last, Lol), it was very hot, so he opened the zipper on his tent just enough to stick his head out, while pulling the zipper down around his neck and resting on a pillow. I guess his head was full of sweat...and the next thing I heard was a scream. I opened my tent, and saw a massive grizzly running off through the trees. My buddy said he awoke to feel something wet and breathing on his skull. At first he thought it was somebody's dog licking him...then he realized it was a grizzly bear! His scream seemed to frighten the bear off...it scared the heck out of me too!
.
Lol...how often do you see a moose running past the 'Marriott Hotel'? That picture is the first in a series of 20 pics within the slide show at the link I've posted above.

What a cute (not so) little guy! We have lots of critters around here too - black bears, skunks, big kitty cats (though the DEP will deny that), beavers, porcupines, raccoons, etc. And they all love my garbage... The cutest was a baby bear that was hanging around my house - friggin' adorable! A few years ago a bear killed a baby near here...dragged her right out of her stroller. How creepy is that!

**Edit: Here's some pictures of the bald eagle that hangs around the supermarket in town. They're not the best because I took them with my cell phone, but I think they're pretty cool anyway.

Hey, fellow Canuck!
NOT in the city, but...
I was doing archaeology in the Chilcotin, in a large camp full of scientists and gear, and had a grizzly come for a visit one night. I was sleeping in a $20 Canadian Tire pup tent and he walked around it about five times, then started sniffing my head through the front flap. I was literally too scared to scream, even though there were other tents nearby. I couldn't make any sound come out of my mouth.
He mangled a bag of clothes I had outside and I finally sat up and screamed my head off for help. One of the other arch's chased him away with a chainsaw. I still have the duffel bag as a souvenir. It's full of tooth marks.
