If you are a woman I would be very careful about using acutane. This is a serious drug that shouldn't be used without some research and of course must be prescribed by a doctor. Also, there are federal regulations that require doctors get patients to sign consent forms before prescribing acutane. The consent form says the patient understands all the risks associated with Accutane, including depression and suicide. Pharmacists must also hand out a detailed warning brochure from the FDA, called a Medguide. Accutane is one of only three drugs in the United States that has ever been required to come with a Medguide.

If the person who suggested you take accutane is truly a doctor I find it unethical for them to make that suggestion of the cuff like that.
