Microsoft Word how to have pages not effect one another?

Hi, I'm not that great with Word as is, so be patient. I'd like to write something in a book format, where i can change things on one page with out having effect all the other pages. Whenever I hit Enter though it moves everything on the following pages. I don't want to have to seperate everything into different documents, I want to be able to scroll from one to the next. This may seem simple, but I can't seem to figure it out, i'm new to the program. Thank you!!!

If you have a page full of text and you add text, the new text has to go somewhere. The page isn't going to expand to hold it. The normal word processor action is to push following text down or onto the next page. This is part of what's known as word wrap.

You can prevent text on subsequent pages from moving, but then when your text expands, it will start a new page and leave a big chunk of blank lines below it. To do this:

    1. Click where you want your fixed page to start.

    2. Press CTRL/Enter.

This will put in a forced page break.

    Hope that helps.
