What's better: The AZ Immigration Enforcement Law or the original Improper entry by alien Federal Law?

Sec. 2. Title 11, chapter 7, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding article 8, to read:

ARTICLE 8. ENFORCEMENT OF IMMIGRATION LAWS 11-1051. Cooperation and assistance in enforcement of immigration laws; indemnification

A. NO OFFICIAL OR AGENCY OF THIS STATE OR A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS STATE MAY ADOPT A POLICY THAT LIMITS OR RESTRICTS THE ENFORCEMENT OF FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAWS TO LESS THAN THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY FEDERAL LAW.

Liberals boast that Obummer has a degree in Constitutional Law. What differences does it make when the guy has no intentions of up holding the Constitution or the law. Obama has made it clear that he could care less what the law reads. The guy is a clear, cut and dry case of a breach to our National Security. It's time to impeach!

What would you expect from the Mayor of LA, he is Mexican (gee I wonder if he is here legally). The AZ law has already passed a couple of judicial reviews, though these are just opinions they have stated that the law falls within the guidelines of the constitution. The true test will be when/if it goes to court. In 2004, Arizona passed a law(Prop 200) that required one to prove citizenship before you could register to vote or before receiving public assistance. This law also required the people working in these areas to turn in any and all suspected illegals. If an official was found to have violating this law a citizen could sue them for damages. In 2007 Arizona passed HB 2779 and the governor stated the following “Immigration is a federal responsibility, but I signed HB 2779 because it is now abundantly clear that Congress finds itself incapable of coping with the comprehensive immigration reforms our country needs. I signed it, too, out of the realization that the flow of illegal immigration into our state is due to the constant demand of some employers for cheap, undocumented labor.” Much of what is in SB 1070 comes from portions of the above bill, in particular the words regarding the hiring of illegals. Whose job is it to enforce our Immigration Laws ? The responsibility of that falls under the authority of Homeland Security and Janet Napolitano is another of those that say that the Arizona law is unconstitutional but like Holder has not read the bill. Does it come to a surprise to the liberals that AZ proposition 200 and HB 2779 were signed in to law by the Governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano ? I suppose that the constitutionality of a law depends upon which party you belong to. So far Janet Napolitano has managed to prove that she is quite capable of speaking out both sides of her mouth.

I don't have a problem punishing illegals, my problem is with profiling citizens. If the law allows for removal of any civil rights of any citizen, then it is flawed. We don't want citizens or those here legally to be harassed

As far as illegals, I believe they should be punished before being deported to deter return trips. If they are removed from the system for a year or two while their families back home suffer, then they will think twice about a return visit. I also want stronger deterrents for employers.

I say send the illegals and employers to Gitmo

The problem is Roy, that Arizona is actually going to enforce the law. The federal govt would never do such a thing

Agreed!I can not understand why people are protesting a law that has been in place for as long as our country has been in existence. When people start accusing folks of being racist these days it is just a ploy to get the attention off their lawlessness.

Roy, you are sadly mistaken. Our DHS secretary will be sending representatives to determine whether your language is a potential threat to the safety of Americans and others.
