Do your kids ever wear band aids as a fashion accessory?

Just so you guys know, if you aren't wearing a Lightning McQueen band aid on your arm while you are at my house, you are just totally out of style! :)

Do/Did your kids ever want to wear band aids just to wear it, not because they've actually hurt themselves?

Update:

PS - Yes, I do have a band aid on my arm right now, with no "owwies", LOL! My band aid has Guido and Luigi on it :)

Update 2:

Ticktock, Johnny does the same thing! He wants to wear them all the time, but when he's really hurt, he won't let me put one on him, LOL

Of course! And my postage stamps. *Sigh*

Yesterday, Aidan came home and pulled a bandaid out of his pocket and said, "look, I found one of my old bandaids on the playground; it has to be mine, I have camouflage bandaids". EWWWWW!

Yes, when my son was 3 he developed an obsession with them. He stuck them all over his body and left them on so long that a couple turned into bandaid shaped red blisters (complete with circles where the air holes were) so he had to stop using them altogether. At 6 he occasionally cons one out of the school or stares longingly into the medicine cabinet when I have it open.

He would love to get a lightening McQueen one, I am afraid he'll discover character ones one day and end up in band aid re-hab!

Knew I couldn't be the only one going through that. Yes, my daughter loves stickers and band-aids are no exception.lol She'll make up every reason to where one... "Mommy, I have a cut" and there's just a little ash spot from skin being scraped.lol

My kids would love to do this, but being the "practical" (a.k.a., cheapskate!) mom that I am, I tell them that they can only have a bandaid if they're bleeding. (We do make occasional exceptions for blisters or other sore areas.) If they ask for a bandaid when they're not hurt, I often will let them pick out a sticker instead and tell them we're saving the bandaids for when they actually do get hurt.

  • My kids, the dogs, furniture AND toys all wear band-aids at my house! Which is why I buy the band-aids from the dollar aisle at my local grocery store :)

LOL My oldest used to do that. She has outgrown it now though. She always wanted to wear a bandaid just for the heck of it, but when she really did need one on, she refused!

I did that when I was a kid. Flinstones band aids. lol. I also ate all the flinstone vitamins in the bottle at one time my mom freaked out and took me to the ER. lol. It was fine though.

She doesn't do that now but I had to share-- Her first original joke was to say "band-aid?" and I'd say, "oh do you want a band-aid?" and she'd say "no!" and laugh. I got them in my stocking a couple of years as a little kid b/c I wanted to put them on me and my dolls. :)
