Why is it the fault of Voltaire?
In Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, Gavroche sings, "They're ugly in Nanterre, it's the fault of Voltaire, and stupid in Palaiseau, all because of Rousseau."
I was wondering if this was some sort of historical reference that I don't get, or just words that rhyme?
