Back Problems Again?? Help!?

Back in Feb of 08, I got myself into a car accident and totaled my car, leaving my back out of alignment. I went to the chiropractor a little over a month to help with the pain/problems. Then, I eventually stopped going because I no longer hurt. Every now and then, sure my back is a little sore, but for the past two days every time I bend over to do something (I'm a waitress, so I do a lot of bending/lifting) I get a sharp pain in my lower back. I want to say it's like a pinched nerve or something. I can't pop my back and the pain is driving my crazy. Please help. Is there a way of getting out of going back to the chiropractor?

I was also in a car accident several years ago and have had problems with my back and neck ever since. I went to chiropractors and therapy for a long time and eventually had to stop because I lost my job and could not afford the payments for treatment.

Unfortunately, you will probably always have some issues with it acting up from time to time. But you can do some things to help. First, daily stretching and back exercises will help. I do not mean exercises such as lat pulls but ones that will help your lower back ( I assume that is where the problems are) such as those listed on this site:

    http://exercise.about.com/library/blbackexercises....

The important thing is to not push yourself on the exercises too much as this can cause more problems. And at the beginning it will cause some pain until the muscles have sufficiently strengthened. But you still need to do enough to strengthen the muscles which support the spinal column. Also, if you have health insurance that will cover therapy or a chiropractor (more plans do than most people realize) then go and max out the visits you can.

Also, you need to be aware of situations such as lifting heavy objects which could flair up the problems. Be sure to use proper lifting techniques ( lift from the knees please) and not to twist or bend over with heavy objects in your hands as much as you can. As a waitress I know this can be difficult to keep in mind on busy days (I was a waiter for several years myself, so I know it can get hectic and you will forget).

You can take ibuprofen as this is a muscle relaxant and helps relieve the spinal pain, but many people ( myself included ) find this makes them tired or dulls the senses. This is why I only take it at night. But obviously consult a doctor before doing so. And speaking of a doctor, consult one as soon as possible on this. But try to avoid surgery, I have had several friends whom had had back surgery and it always seems to do more harm than good.

I hope this has helped and that you are feeling better soon.

Your back is the one who supports your head and torso, enables you to bend, twist and stretch and provides protection for your spinal cord.Your back is made of a complex maze of bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons, each being susceptible to pain and injury. When your vertebrae are out of alignment, because of injury, muscle tension, muscle spasms or loose, weak muscles, you experience pain.

Here are some ways for you to avoid back pain. Perform all of these and let's see if these help you with your problem.

*You just have to maintain a proper posture when sitting and standing.

*Watch your weight; excess weight places additional strain on your back.

*Warm up before doing physical work or exercise.

*Stay active and follow a regular pattern of exercise to keep your muscles and joints flexible.

*When lifting, bend at your knees, hold the object close to your body and lift from your legs.

*Avoid sleeping on your stomach, which can strain your neck and back.

*If work you to spend long periods of time in a chair, talk with your DC about the best ergonomic options.

But, if you perform all of these and still nothing happened, then you have no choice but to go and see your chiropractor again. It's for your own good. They can help you with your condition and they can give a good advises on your problem.

I agree ten thousand percentage with the whole lot you stated. It could be exceptional to are living in which the president hasnt been bush, clinton, bush, clinton, however I feel that Hillary can repair a few stuff within the USA. My vote is for Bill Richardson despite the fact that. He is my governor, and he has modified the path of our state, and feel he would repair the hindrance in America, however he is not as standard has Hillary, and Obama. If Hillary is president I could think about her. People wish to look a black president, and so they wish to look a lady president, however I say, we could get bush out of there ASAP. He has performed NO GOOD for America. I can say those matters, b/c I didnt vote for him both time he used to be elected.
