So most likely the deniers in question were feeling nostalgic for the cool weather in parts of the USA and Europe, which allowed them to make the ignorant "my weather is cold therefore the planet is cooling" argument, and they forgot to check on their weather over the past 2 months. It's no longer so conveniently cold.

That's how deniers like Jim Z, Peter J, and Richie Rich operate...Remember they aren't trying to put forward a valid theory, though they will use whatever is handy (global cooling, sunspots, etc) or suits their needs at the moment.

A few days or weeks of cold weather and the deniers are out in force proclaiming that we’re heading into a new ice-age, that global warming has been proven wrong, that the world has been cooling since 1934, 1976, 1998, 2002 or any other date they pluck from mid air.

Then as soon as the temperatures warm up they global cooling brigade switch tack and claim that any warming is caused by natural variations, that the data have been fudged, that it’s short term and proves nothing.

Their inconsistency and contradictions are laughable. If the temperature record shows a period of cooling then it is taken as absolute proof that global warming is a myth, but when the very same record shows warming it’s because all the figures are made up. Standard denier psychology – accept only what they want to believe and reject everything else.

The bottom line is that many deniers are simply unable or unwilling to accept facts. The evidence can be there right in front of them but it fails to register, or they apply their own unique interpretation to it then proclaim they’re a genius for having interpreted the findings, when in fact they’re an idiot for having misinterpreted the findings.

It never ceases to amaze me how an individual, with no scientific credentials, can have such a massively inflated ego that they think they known more than the global scientific community.

Satellite records (considered the most accurate) show that in the 80's and 90's temperatures rose by 0.13 per decade and since 2001 there has been no temperature rise at-all.

Second, "unusally warm winter", that's a crock. Mild winter in that region in the norm, I know, I lived there. That Harry Hammer is just spinning.
