Why does it bother me so much that my co worker is "milking the clock" for not doing any work in return?
This has been an on going problem for about two years now. The co worker WILL NOT leave work at the proper time (8 hr. shift). Instead they "pretend" to be productive when in fact everybody already know the routine the co worker carries out E-V-E-R-Y SINGLE DAY! Even on the way to the time clock, the co worker has to use the bathroom, get a drink of water, go to the break room, yada, yada, yada, to get that extra five to ten minutes. Reason why I know all this is because I'm working a later shift than they are, and I've taken notice to this behavior for a long time. I've even ask my supervisor if I could switch with this individual to help cut out the overtime. Why is it bothering me so much?
You guy are really opening my eyes about this. I am really appreciating what you're saying.

It's taken me a long time to do this, but I have adopted an attitude of not letting what others do in the workplace bother me. As long as it has no affect on me, my reputation, or my productivity, I don't let it get to me. It's not doing me any good to worry, and it's going to look badly on me if I complain. So, I just let it go, and let all the good things about me stand out to the people that matter.

It bothers you because you're jealous that this person is getting away with working less than you. I'm not saying what they're doing is right, but unless it affects your work in some way, it's really none of your business.

It bothers you that minimalists get what they want. All of us overachievers are disgraced by these aweful people. Don't do anything about it, as bad as that sounds. This person does what he/she wants, and therefore is responsible for these actions. It is not your business to complain. It is the boss' business to complain.

Perhaps it makes you feel superior to criticize this co-worker. My suggestion to you is that you STOP taking "notice" of their actions and pay attention to your own business. It's abbreviated MYOB.

It bothers you because your co-worker has seamlessly mastered the art of efficiency. ;D
