There are none so gullible as those who accept the Jesus dying on the Cross for their sins story.
Faith is responsible for all manner of deception.

It depends what they trust them for. If people say something,
we have a responsibility to see if it is true through our experience,
the bible, and perhaps other people's thoughts too. That's not
because the person has bad motives. Unfortunately, we can
tell people things that we believe at the time and then learn
it's not true. Or maybe we don't learn it's not true because
no one corrects us, or no one wants to hurt our feelings &
on it goes. I think we want to trust that often others do care
about us. But we also need to know that often people don't
have much left over. So, I think of the scripture 'do not judge'.
We want to be 'long-suffering' (ie. in the Greek 'long-spirited').
Then we can afford to trust with some areas, and lean
on the Lord with all areas.
