What do you think of Zye, Penn or Noua?
Like that writer who wrote Peter Pan who invented the name Wendy.
I'd kinda like to have a go at thinking up a new girl's name for my little un coming up.
I first thought of Zye (pronounced Zi), which i like cos it's short and sweet almost like a nickname.
like Di or Vi.
Zye Hargreaves, not bad
I was thinking of using my mother's maiden name Penn.
Penn Hargreaves has a sorta ring to it.
I did toy with the name Noua....which is pronounced Noo-Ah
But it does sound like Noah being said in a scottish accent..so mebbe not.
I'm finding it hard to make up a new name without it sounding ridiculous or maybe pretentious.
Mmmmm....Martinib.
Zayah, i kinda like that cos it's adding on a bit more femininity onto the end of Zi,.... yeah i like it a lot.
Yes, now you mention it, Zye has a rakish masculine quality about it, doesn't it.
I just imagined her all grown up with her friends and her friends calling her Zye,
"Hey where's Zye?", i think it's kinda simple and stands out a bit.
One things for sure, with my very old-fashioned parents, if i choose any one of those names, it will totally blow their minds (god, i can see their faces now)...lol
LOL @ Cath.
You should get friendly with my parents too.
This seems to have blown your prosaic little mind somewhat eh?.

When I looked at the question title I was going to say that I thought Zye was a nice name but I thought it was for a boy. I thinks it's too masculine for a girl but I like Zayah for a girl.
Penn is horrible though and Noua just sounds like Noah said differently so it's not as unique.

Thing is, J M Barrie invented the name 'Wendy for a fictional character in a storybook. He didn't inflict it on a real child in order to act out his own bizarre need to seem 'different', or to fulfill a personal fantasy about one particular phrase being used in the kid's life. If you really must have *that* nickname, give the kid the damn nickname when they're young. Just make sure you give them a proper name as well, eh?

Penn is quite cute but i'd only use it for a boy
Zye i would say is quite masculine - but i do like someone else's suggestion of Zayah pronounced Zy-ah, so when she grows up her nickname may still be Zy..
another one i have heard of which u might like - not sure... is Zaythia pronounced Zay-th-ee-a, i think its african..

I love that you thought of Penn which seems like a sweet name. What about Penelo and then you could call her Penn for short?
