Is there anyway to keep a neighbors dog from barking continuously?

I've heard those gadgets don't work.

Since you have already talked to them and they refuse to rectify the situation - file an official complaint.

People can get quite protective over the way they treat their pet and don't like to be critisied. so rather than complain maybe try helpful suggestions such as saying i don't mean to be rude but your dog is still barking and i was wondering maybe if he missed you while you where out, perhaps if you left the radio on for him he would not miss you so much. or if your neighbour is their when the barking is happening write a diary of the noise for about a week and make a noise complaint to your concil. if all else fails perhaps you could ask your neighbour not to leave the dog in an area of the house that is close to your windows on that side and see if this lessens the noise.

I recently had a really bad situation involving my neighbor's dogs and their barking. I work at night and sleep during the day when people usually don't pay attention to their barking dogs.

I asked my neighbors to quiet their dogs down and they agreed. The dogs are still barking at about the same rate so I am sure that they did not take me seriously.

To make a long story short, I popped the CD into my CD player and the dogs stopped barking almost immediately. As on person stated "I almost fell out of my chair when the dogs stopped barking". I totally agree with them. It worked like a charm.

If you attempt to fix the situation yourself by using a gadget on someone else's dog, you can expect to land in jail.

Well, maybe you should complain. If they're going to be jerks, they deserve to have a complaint filed against them.

Call animal control, they'll handle it.
