Can I find an easily available thing to kill grubs in a vegetable garden? I need something short-term!!!!?
I have a vegetable garden that has been growing fantastically for the past few years. But recently, I've had a large infestation of grubs move off the lawn (we used Grub-Ex), and they have moved into the vegetable garden, killing some of my plants. I want to find something organic so I can save my plants, but still be able to eat the veggies. Please help!

What about using organic controls for grub control?
Heterorhabditis bacteriophora nematodes have shown good results for white grub control. Nematodes are very small unsegmented worms. This particular species will search out white grubs and after entering the grub, release bacteria that kills the grub. This product is available in mail order catalogs, often sold as Hb nematodes. This product should be applied late in the day to lawns with adequate soil moisture and then watered in immediately.

We have also been trying to cut back on expenses and become greener at the same time. The most recent changes we have made are: Composting everything possible of the kitchen scraps and buying things with less packaging and recycling everything as much as we can. We save all the rinse water from washing veggies to water the garden with and put lots of mulch around the plants to retain moisture. Also we take shorter showers, and when brushing our teeth we always remember to turn off the water until time to rinse! Our light bulbs are the energy efficient kind and so are our washer and dryer. Now that it is summer, we are eating more cold foods and that saves a bunch on electricity for cooking and doesn't heat up the house! Besides raw veggies and fruits have more vitamins!
