It all depends if that job is enough for them to support themselves on

I say 19 because 18 is still too early because they're STILL in high school. Besides, some don't graduate high school until 19. It's good and proper to go from high school straight to college by the following fall, while they have the time of their lives during the summer after they graduate, and once they get to college, they go their dormitories. And if they have a job, well, if they don't have college housing like those dorms, then it depends really on how much they're making and how much the rent at their new place would be. They should be saving up, at least. Once they make enougb where you know they'll save up, only then does it make sense to have them leave home, after at least 19 years old. Remember, things aren't like they once were 20-30 years ago. Things and the economy and the cost of things is different now.

Well, you want me to theorize on the moral answer to this?
Our society is changing and our economy is rocky. There is no reason an employed or unemployed kid cannot live at home. If they are employed, you expect them to pay their share as they can. This is the norm in many cultures.
So, what do you think the answer is? Are they giving you money? Enough for a place of their own?
Ha, now wouldn't it be better to stabilize the whole family if they gave you high enough rent to get another place for themselves elsewhere? Keeping all that rent money within the family and possibly giving him perks to go along!
Anyway, I hope this gives you some stuff to think about.
It's up to you, it's your house.

i dont see a problem letting ur kid live with u as long as they respect the rules and help out in the house. its a tough world out there and u have to make sure they can make it on there own.

As long as my kid is being a productive memeber of the household and respecting the rules as well as others, they don't have to move out.
