Oil spill June 3,1979 in Gulf of Mexico CAN YOU GIVE ME INFO?

There are reports that this happened before. Same type of spill and same technology. Except that it was in 200? ft of water. They said it took 9 months to stop the leak back then using same methods.

Anyone know where I can get more info about that oil spill? What was the name of the company-was it BP OIL?

That was Ixtoc 1, which turned out to be the second biggest oil spill in history. Like with the Deepwater Horizon, the well blew up, burned, and sank. It was owned by Pemex and was located in the Bay of Campeche. Much of the oil washed up on beaches in Texas but Mexico refused to help the US with the cleanup efforts.

Mexicans are poor and lazy, I don't even blame them. If I met a Mexican willingly help out with something I'd **** my pants.
