I agree the first name thing is weird - perhaps an "I Love Lucy" fan.
Aside from that, social networking sites are all about making new friends as well as maintaining contact with existing ones. I met my wife on MySpace over two years ago. If one or both of us did not accept random requests, we would never have met

Do you play any of the games/applications on facebook?
If yes, particularly if you recently left a review about the game/application then other people who saw your review may have added you just for the benefit of having another neighbour to play the game with them, they see that you play the same game as them and so add you. This happens to me all of the time.
