Is it lame to wear a short sleeve dress shirt with suit and tie?

I'm a young guy and I'm wondering if it's lame or a fashion faux pas to wear a short sleeve dress shirt with a tie and suit in the summer time?

I feel like its something only Dennis Franz on NYPD Blue does...

Update:

To the person that said wear a skirt... I'm a man...

I am required to wear a suit and tie to work so I can't just leave out the tie or not wear dress pants/jacket...

I wouldn't even consider short sleeves, but I have a hard time finding shirts with the right length arm and I always have to buy the next neck size up which are HUGE on me.

Also, in the summer it's nice to stay cool!

It is definately not lame to wear a short sleeve dress shirt with a tie. My brother does it and my cousins do it. I know when I show cattle we have to wear a long sleeve shirt and it gets really HOT!

My opinion is... wear a nice LONG sleeved dress shirt

I mean I know that it is hot but if it is a formal event you should wear a long sleeve

First before you do anything, talk with the hosts (people who are organizing this event) if they say it is OK then go ahead
