What pistol would you recommend for a 13-year old?

I'm 13 and I'm thinking about getting a pistol, I can handle my dad's Glock 22 and his Luger P89, I'd prefer a gun that wouldn't kick much more than those. The gun shouldn't be very expensive, but shouldn't feel cheap.

    I'd recommend the Ruger SR-9.

    It runs between $350 - $400 new.

The Ruger SR-9 holds 17 + 1 rounds of 9mm in a thin frame that is perfect for conceal carry.

9mm is inexpensive, easy to find (in most places), and provides decent stopping power.

The 9mm does not have a lot of recoil, and you should be able to handle it quite well.

Well, bad news for ya, good pistols aren't cheap. But check flea markets and you may find a bargain, I bought a near new Glock 21(45 ACP) for $475 last year. I'm a little biased towards Glocks, but if you're wanting a good, affordable pistol you can't go wrong with them. For you? Umm, I'd go with

    1) Sig Sauer P226 OR Glock 19/22/17

    2)Beretta 92/96

    3)Ruger P series

Sig's are a little pricey, but well worth the money, the 226 doesn't kick at all, it's unreal! Beretta's are nice, but if price is a major concern Taurus makes clones of them in 9mm and 40 S&W.

in case you go with an exceedingly low-priced rifle, i might recommend an AK-40 seven/seventy 4. An AK-40 seven might desire to have too plenty balk for you(i'm 15 and it is not something, yet i don't understand how tall you're or how plenty you weigh) so an AK-seventy 4 might desire to be a mode to flow. It fires dirt decrease priced 5.45x39 ammunition and has even much less balk than an AR-15(balk on an AR feels non existent) and a proper high quality one will basically be approximately 800 money or so. An Arsenal SGL-31 is in all probability the terrific AK-seventy 4 you may get, yet you additionally can in all probability locate greater value-effective AKs made by potential of diverse manufacturers at Atlantic Firearms' internet site. i will furnish a hyperlink for you interior the factors. in case you're keen to spend $800 to $1200 money, an AR-15 in 5.fifty six/.223 is a competent decision. there are various to compliment between and personalize. make certain you don't get junk nevertheless, confirm that's Mil-spec. Daniel protection, BCM, LMT, LWRC, and Noveske are all sturdy companies that make and sell AR form rifles.

    Ruger 22/45.

Cheap on ammo and has the sorta feel of the larger semi autos without the kick (recoil).

The money you save to get good with that .22 will pay for a nice pistol.

You should read the Federal Youth Handgun Safety Act. You can't own or posses handguns in most cases until you turn 18. In addition you can't possess handgun ammo in most cases until you turn 18. You can not purchase a handgun from a dealer until you are 21. I have been purchasing long guns and giving them to my son since he was 10. I have two handguns that I have purchased over the years to give to him when he turns 18, which is less than 3 weeks. In the mean time, I have allowed him to borrow those handguns to use for lawful purposes. If you decide to violate Federal law or talk your dad in to purchasing a handgun, retaining ownership until you are 18, and only allowing you to use it for legal purposes, I would think you could handle most handguns, especially if they don't have Magnum as the last name. My youngest son 12 when he started shooting my Springfield XD-45 (one of the guns that I am going to give to my oldest son) one handed. He was shooting my .357 Magnum at that age too. He did shoot one round in my .357 when he was 9 and he didn't want to shoot any more of them even though he enjoyed shooting .38 Specials in that handgun. Anything bigger would probably be to much.
