Sleeping with my fan on = sick?

Friday, and Saturday night I slept with my fan on. Sunday night, it was on but I started to feel sick. I had a sore throat and a stuffy nose sunday night, so I turned my fan off, which was pointing at my head from friday on, especially while I was sleeping.

Could sleeping with my fan on pointed at my head make me get a sore throat and a stuffy nose?

Update:

My fan is a bit dusty, it's been sitting in my room unused for a year, but I dusted it as well as I could about a day before I turned it on. I don't know what else to do.

Update 2:

My bedroom is about 10 degrees hotter then the rest of my house, and I have to sleep with a blanket on. I'm not allergic to anything.

Eh ...Well do you share a room with someone? Maybe they were sick and the fan blew their germs in your face. I'm guessing.

I've slept with a fan blowing in my face every single day of my life since I was about 1 year old. That's 26+ years of having a fan in my face and it hasnt affected me.

Maybe its blowing dust particles/animal dander at you? Do you have a pet in your room? is your fan/room dusty?

It may make you sick, it may not. Personally during summer and a bit into winter I sleep under blankets with the fan blowing on my face, just can't get the temperature balance any other way, but I never get sick. Though, I don't get sick anyway, very very rare, that could be why I don't get sick, I'd imagine the cold virus is already inside you and the temperature differences (warm body, cold head) could mess up something inside you enabling the virus to take hold. *shrugs*

I sleep with a fan on every summer. Otherwise, its too hot and I can't sleep. I don't get sick...well when I usually sleep with a fan on I have it on rotating and I'll usually have a blanket too because I also cannot sleep without a blanket and it then it gets colder in the middle of the night so I think the blanket prevents me from getting sick. Yeah I know its kinda wierd sleeping with a fan on and a blanket lol but yeah thats how I like it so its not too hot or cold.

lol yes , i sleep with 2 fans on and always have to take allergy medicine the next day.

Make sure you clean your fans, don't let them get dusty that might be some of the cause
