did you tell the bank the reason you wanted to cancel your card if not get in touch with again and tell them once they have investigated it and you are telling the truth they should refund the money

The company will identify which IP address the card was used from, and give this information to the police. The police will then be able to identify which internet provider uses that IP address, and in turn they will reveal the address of whichever user was using that IP at the time.

If you live with a partner, you don't think it could have been them do you? Whoever it was would have needed to have the 3 digit security code off the back of the card. It would be very tricky if you submit a fraud claim and the police discover the payment was made from your computer.

If it was a partner, they may be able to get help from GA at http://www.gamblersanonymous.org.uk/ and you may be able to get help from http://www.gamanon.org.uk/

Did you explain to your bank what happened? In the U.S. if you notify the credit card company or bank within a certain time period, you are not liable for the debt. If the payment is still pending, contac the bank again and tell them it was an unauthorized charge. You will likely also have to contact CASHCADE and tell them what happened as it may have been one of their employees or something.

If the money was withdrawn illegally and you notified the bank as soon as you found out, then your bank will normally investigate the matter and refund the money to your account.

However, if you gave your bank details to the company concerned (for whatever reason), then the bank will not refund you as the matter then becomes one between you and the company that you gave your bank details to.

cancelling a debit card will do nothing.

It just means they will send you a new one.

You must tell the bank that you suspect fraud.
