Certain tax cuts work and do increase revenue. It would work a lot better if congress would not spend the extra money that gets to the Treasury. And that goes for both parties.
Just like when GW cut taxes revenue went up and the congress spent it plus more.
That is why they all have to be replaced.
But to a progressive I guess taking more money from people to give to others (as long as it is not their money) is the best thing to do if your an idiot.

Actually the conservative theory is cut taxes and spending. Bush was not a conservative. He was a moderate or even a progressive republican.

Yes
Tax cuts are worthless without spending cuts, because the difference is just made up elsewhere, like borrowing or inflation. Smoke and mirrors

Actually that has been OBAMA'S policy since he took office.
He cut taxes and then did some RECORD spending.
a "CONSERVATIVE" policy would NEVER include increased spending...bash on the GOP all you want...but conservative is an ideology and has a definition, which doesn't include increased govt spending.

If you look at the historical plots, tax cuts always encourage deficit spending.
Oh, not a theory, a historical fact. Go look it up those of you with fingers now in your ears going LALALALA.
Furthermore, you can look up in the government record that GDP tends to be HIGHER when taxes are higher.

sure its easy to cut taxes when you can go borrow billions - of course this somehow became a Democratic problem since most Americans have a memory that only goes back about a month

More like borrow and spend.
