Cats driving my pet crazy?
We've recently moved into a new house and notice a lot of stray cats in the area, and a lot of owned cats in the area. They love to visit our yard, which drives our dog nuts (especially at 2am when we should all be sleeping). I don't want to kill them, I just want them out of our backyard. I've read that orange scent can get rid of them, but will it affect my dog? What methods can we use to get them out of our yard?
I'd rather not capture all of them, as some are owned and the ones that aren't could add up to a lot as there are a lot of strays in the area.
Can't use the annoying high pitched noise ones, since we have a dog.
1. No dog carrier
2. There are, as I've said, TOO MANY strays to put out money for a humane cat carrier.
I've read Orange Scent can deter cats from entering.

Leave the strays alone--the shelter would only euthenize them as unadoptable and you don't want to 'steal' other people's pets.
The MessinaWildlife site had a cat spray that won't affect dogs, it's cheap and guaranteed 100% or money back, made with plant oils and one application lasts for weeks. Our gardening section gave it thumbs up.
Here's the URL for the cat repellant --

Since it's money back guarantee, you don't lose anything.

I have used Shake Away Cat Repellent to keep the strays away from my house and it works pretty well. You just need to put down more after it rains.

use your dog carrier to take some of them to the shelter whether they are owned or not, they deserve a better life.
