Yeah I heard this on Fox Sport News I think. If he isn't with the Melbourne Storm next year because of the salary cap drama, he wants to stay in Melbourne. And according to my counting skillz, there is only one Melbourne NRL team. Meaning the source and FSN are claming he will jump ship - to Essendon.

I don't like what's happening, but if the Storm don't have him next season, they are probably happy - from a playing point of view - that he is out of league, because he is so good. It's hard to comment on at the moment because it is just a report, and he may sign with Penrith or someone for next season staying in NRL. But if it does happen, it will suck for all NRL fans, loosing someone like Inglis.

He's not jumping ship as you call it...he doesn't want to leave Melbourne and doesn't want to play against his team mates and the NRL have told the Storm they have to offload a couple of players so what choice does he have...if he leaves League though he will be sorely missed and if he goes to Essendon...can I just say yuck.

It's in the Melbourne papers as well that he's talked to Essendon and apparently the Melbourne Rebels ??? are interested in him as well.

lol Cricket nerd...as if Judd or Fev or anyone would take a pay cut to go play another sport.

EDIT:...on the Melbourne news tonight it was announced that Essendon are in talks with Greg Inglis.

Inglis pointing out that he's pals with Mundine and SBW's supervisor says all of it. any comprehend for G.I i had is long long gone for being invloved with 2 finished idiots. i'm hoping he does go, no longer because of fact i'm a Manly supporter yet because of fact everybody who's below this supervisor (who isn't credited by utilising the way) in simple terms needs money, SBW, Mundine and now Inglis, i understand there isn't any loyalty to something however the almighty dollar to SBW and Mundine and if Inglis is going with them he would be in the comparable boat.

    Whatever Im over it.

I guess he could go to North Melbourne or the Dees, St Kilda, Bulldogs, Carlton, Bombers, Hawks, Richmond (lol), Geelong or the Pies so he has plenty choice.

    plenty choice and plenty money

Id like to see him and Izzy get as much happiness from AFL though. League was their first choice you cant deny that.

    Let him go.

I bet all the Rugby League players who jump to AFL are going to take they're money and return to the best sport in the world (Rugby League)

And this just goes to show Rugby League players have the best fitness... Heaps of codes are trying to buy our players!

He hasn't signed yet. But if he goes, the NRL need to do something. I can't stand the AFL taking all our starts as if they grow on trees. Why don't we fight back and take Judd or something. Fev could go well in the centres I think....

Yeah maybe he will delay his decision until he sees how Hunt and Folaul go, anyway if he goes he goes RL will survive. Like Dragonlady says 102 years and still strong eh!!!

If he was going to bail then I reckon he'd be better off heading to Union. He would be an awesome outside centre or fullback. Either way if he goes it would be a major blow.

Give it 2-3 years and AFL will have their own all stars game......

    AFL all-stars vs League All-stars

Wouldn't suprise me as the Storm will have to shed him from their roster and he could earn big bucks without having to move from Melbourne.
