How old is a baby when they stop needing two naps a day?

My baby is 9 months and she very obviously still needs her 2 naps a day, sometimes even three. I am just curious around about what age are they when they only have one nap in the middle of the day?

Our pediatrician told us to enjoy those 2 naps a day for as long as possible . . . unfortunately, around a year old they started skipping the morning nap or taking a much shorter nap and by 14 months we were down to 1 afternoon nap a day. Thank goodness it is a solid 2 hour nap so that we can get some stuff done.

My daughter is 14mnths going on 15 and she still takes 2 naps a day. My mom kinda put her foot down on that, something about don't let her weasle out of her naps she needs them and so do you. Something like that. But, she takes 2 usually 1-2 hours each and then she's ready for bed around 7pm sometimes I keep her up until 8pm then she sleeps until 8am-10am. Depends on the child and the family I suppose :)

All babies are different but usually around their first birthday they go down to only 1 nap a day.

Up to 18 months to 2 years, according to this. My son is 1 year and he varies from one 2 hr nap, or two one hour naps.

Mine was 11 months old, when she started, it was a rarity at first but by 12 months she was sleeping only once, now at 17 months Im lucky if she sleeps during the day, shes left day sleeping behind her, and I feel like its too early, especially with baby no. 2 on the way.
