Valentino Rossi's possible replacement (MotoGP)?

Firstly, can Ben Spies be moved up onto the Fiat M1.

Im thinking the rookie rule would not apply as a replacement rider. (Mika Kalio last year for stoner)

My personal choice would be Katsuyki Nakasuga.

I think the Favourite would probably be Colin Edwards.

there is still Cal Crutchlow or James Toe52and.

who do you think will be brought in to replace Rossi while he recovers

(Which we all hope will be quickly)

Update:

The only real thing I can find in the rule book is

1.11.4 If a team is unable to provide a substitute rider, then IRTA may decide

to allow another team to enter a rider, on an event by event basis, to

reach the required number of entries. Article 1.10.1 will apply to all

replacement and substitute riders.

Update 2:

Teams must make every reasonable effort to provide a qualified

substitute rider to fulfil their entry obligations. However no substitution

or replacement of the entered rider may be made after 10H30 on the

first day of practice except in the MotoGP class when the limit is 2

hours before the qualifying practice

This really is the $64,000 question !

I cant see it been Cal or James as they are under contract already, although JT would be a good choice for clear reasons.

Do any of the next few months WSB round clash with MotoGP ?

Your JSB rider / the test riders would be the quickest riders to move into the team.

Colin would be a great stand in man as he knows the team so well, however I dont think Herve would be too happy to let him go. If he did however, I would like to see Ben Bostrom move into Tech 3.

Lets face it, however they get, they have the biggest boots to fill, so its going to tough.

As for Ben, yes, I would also love to see him move to Fiat, but I think the 'Rookie' rule will stop him. Shame.

Who do I really want to fill the ride ....... Randy Mamola or Mick Doohan! It will never happen, but damn, it would be good!

Me, I'll do it. 17 starters 2 crashes and I'm in the points albeit 15 laps down on a good day.

Seriously though looking at the rules above it could be that as it is a replacement and not a permanent ride the rookie rule may not apply, and Ben's contract I think is with Yamaha and not Tex 3, and although Herve may not be happy he is not daft and if he expects continued factory support he'll do what he has to do.

I also have a funny feeling that both JT52 & Cal's contracts are with Yamaha as they held the later to his 2 year contract this year when he was talking to Gresini about Moto2.

I think if we look outside the 2 Tex 3 riders I think we will probably see some unknown Japanese test rider due to contract issues and race day clashes.

But whoever goes where they have some very big boots to fill as Wiggysan says.

[ i think that Rossi's immediate replacement will be a Yamaha test rider, with all the other riders mentioned being under contractual obligations, with Silverstone coming up JT52 or Cal would be good

or Ben but i can't see it..as no one knows yet how long the replacement is for..

also Valentino and Jerry Burgess may have a lot of input with this decision, so we will have to wait and see... i think it would be great to see Troy Bayliss get a call........<^><..

hi Proc i think of Valentino Rossi is slightly disenchanted at Yamaha, yet no longer disenchanted sufficient to bypass away the team any time quickly. i think his contemporary rant approximately Yamaha signing Lorenzo returned, is basically a sign to his bosses asserting "be careful". Yamaha needs Rossi to be remembered as a Yamaha rider, so for them the main suitable state of affairs could be Valentino staying 2 extra seasons and getting in the past´s checklist. throughout those years he could desire to anticipate a complicated undertaking from his teammate (Lorenzo and consistent with threat Spies) so the reality that Yamaha presented "equivalent" therapy to Lorenzo, replaced into no longer the main suitable little bit of information to Vale, particularly as Jorge is reaping rewards of Valentinos ´bike progression. Neither the reality that Spies replaced into envisioned to alter to MotoGP in 2011, and the rumor mill now says 2010. This issues can get in the way whilst finding for Agostini´s checklist. As Ducati is going, they for particular want to be Champions returned, yet presently they failed at luring Pedrosa or Lorenzo, as their bike isn't called a one with Champion ability, so I reckon bringing Rossi could be very puzzling... in spite of the fact that... ...the main severe ingredient i think of would be what Valentino needs, and that, all of us understand can substitute interior of right here couple of years, We now he desires to be Champion returned, that he needs in the past´s checklist, yet additionally understand he loves the undertaking. Ducati could get him, via offering him a tremendous bike, on his very own words, JB secure, reliable funds, and an absolute quantity one status in the team to assure the main wins achievable for him. Ducati is a small team and corporation (in comparison to others) yet financially isn't that small. Has particularly some reliable sponsors. I wouldn´t recommendations that test in any respect. I´m a hundred% possitive he can experience and win with the crimson beast.

    Hello Ben11Fan and everyone, :)

I think that the most realistic option will be Collin Edwards, but I would love to see all those riders from WSBK, JSB etc take the seat (temporarily of course heheh) ;)

There is talk that Yuki Takahashi will. He is currently racing Moto2 but raced Motogp in 2009 for Scot racing until being replaced by Talmacsi's sponsorship money

I say Ben! Can't see Cal and I think it would be weird/mean if they let JT take the ride.
