air conditioner capacitor replaced now will not turn off?

service guy came out because of no cool air he pulled cover off the outside unit, and the wire was off of capacitor he replaced wire and capacitor now 5 hours latter air will not shut off any suggestions? guess I don't have to say this is on my house

Update:

have tried shutting off a/c by flipping from a/c to heat it shut off ok that way but I have thermostat up to 90 and the inside temp is 72 the ac was working before the capacitor went bad so why is the thermostat not working right

    HVAC Tech.: Sounds like the contactor switch could be welded shut, that could cause it to continue to run all the time. Turn off the 220 volt power source to the outdoor unit, and get ANOTHER tech. to come and check the system out. Best of luck!
