i used baby oil and left it on for a while to soften the skin, then got a fine toothed comb and gently brushed it out.
hope this helps.x

It depends how bad it is. For just a little bit of flaking, oil and brushing is often sufficient. It is likely to come back, but less and less each time, and eventually be gone entirely. My daughter had it on her head, then it spread down to her forehead and her ears! She looked like a little dinosaur, with this flaky thick skin across her eyebrows lol. The pediatrician had us wash it with head & shoulders dandruff shampoo every day (even though we were bathing her every second day, we did her head/face daily), and in about a week and a half her face was once again baby smooth. The top of her head was a little more persistent, but consistency works.

Cradle Cap is caused by the glands on the head. To remove it put some olive oil on your babies head and leave on for a few hours..maybe before a big sleep. then use a baby comb or brush and gently remove it. To prevent it you need to brush you babies head daily to stimulate the oil glands.

Head and Shoulders Shampoo-----Ask your dr or pharmacist, it's perfectly safe for a baby, just make sure to not get it in their eyes. Cradle cap is a fancy way to say baby dandruff. Don't bother with the baby oil, or expensive special creams. Good ol dandruff shampoo works the best!

My son had it bad too. I used baby oil and a q tip to rub it off. My kiddo didn't like the scratching of the brushes or combs so I gently rubbed in a circle and it slid right off his little head. Good luck.

We slathered her little head in baby oil (You can use Olive oil too) and used a soft baby brush and used small circular motions on her head to help loosen the flakes. We let it sit for a good 10 mins.
Source(s): I then combed her hair back to get the flakes. I washed her hair with baby shampoo and did circular motions again . We washed her hair about 2x to remove the oil. - 1 decade ago
we used baby oil and massaged it in there then let it sit a little and then took one of their baby combs and start from the front of the hairline (forehead) and comb back so their hair stand up if he has any.. I continued this for a few days if it kept up but usually after that one time we didnt have a problem.

Put baby shampoo (with water) on his head and let it sit on his head for a bit, then gently comb or brush and then rinse. This is what my doctor told us to do and it worked wonderfully. You can do it at bath time, or just do the head.

Maybe a soft little brush could be used on his head with the olive oil? Like those baby brushes with silkier bristles than a reg. brush.

olive oil is good, just leave it on his head for a while, then gently comb it out, it can take a bit of time to go away but dont worry it will
