How to Become a Veterinarian?
I'm a junior in high school right now, and my career goal is to become a veterinarian. My GPA is 4.085 right now.
My dream college is Cornell University in Ithaca, NY because they have the top veterinary medicine college in the U.S.
I would like some information before I begin the college application process.
So my question is: How do you become a veterinarian? Do you have the graduate regular college first after 4 years and then get a degree to become a vet after another 4 years? Or can you go straight to veterinary college after high school? Please help me out.

If you're in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand (and a few other countries), you can graduate high school and then go immediately into a veterinary program. But in the US and Canada (and most other countries), you are required to have a bachelors degree (4 years of college) first before you go on to veterinary school. In order to get into veterinary school, you will be required to take the MCAT (it's a horrible standardized test) and have the prerequisite courses from college like genetics, biology, etc.

I like your fave reply. Yeah, folks believe the cash is first-class. Vets have price and coverage disorders identical to steady medical professionals, however such a lot do not suppose that. I had a buddy who "performed" with this concept. I needed to be the great buddy I might and requested him to reply a few tough questions like: Can you are taking being bitten? Can you manage blood? How do you manage an emergency w/an proprietor who will probably be distraught? Can you are taking having to inform folks that their animal is significantly unwell or loss of life? Can you set an animal to sleep? Tell me the way you might inform a man or woman that there's not anything you'll be able to do for thier animal and it should be positioned down? How do you remedy the landlord? Afterall, the animal isn't your simplest customer. Needless to mention, my buddy didn't grow to be a vet.
