best unbiased professional alternative therapies site?
does anyone know of a professional, unbiased alternative therapies site? One which is run by an educated trained qualified individual. I already belong to naturalnews.com which is good but has become a little political of late. Also curezone.com but it is nearly all blogs. I just want natural cures, information & news from professional trusted sources. No blogs or support groups sites please.
Many thanks for all your comments so far, I'm very grateful.

Naturalnews is certainly political but very relevant at a time when drug companies are keen to get everybody on as many pills as possible. I have no doubt that telling the truth has encouraged many people to have a rethink and as a result has no doubt saved lives. I think Mercola.com is also worth a look as, in spite of the fact that it has a lot of advertisements for health products, it also publishes research findings from some very highly qualified medical specialists and scientists who have the brain and the courage to think 'outside of the box'. Only yesterday I read in The British Medical Journal the results of an investigation which led to the discovery that the World Health Organisation have covered up commercial interests in pushing swine flu vaccines, in allowing recommendations which have originated from 'experts' on the payroll of giant pharmaceutical companies. Mercola and Natural news warned everybody at least a year ago that the whole thing was a scam.
If reading information from qualified doctors gives you confidence then wholehealthmd.com is written solely by fully qualified doctors, professors, etc. in the mainstream who have dared to look further and explore the exciting field of alternative medicine. It is gratifying to note that an increasing number of orthodox practitioners are opening their eyes and their minds to effective alternatives.

well I support BOTH sides and I am happy to hear both sides. Please don't lump everyone into the same bin lol I use alternative BUT ALWAYS seek medical advice. I see my GP for regular health checks and blood tests and everything else BUT I also use *some* alternative item WITH caution and when GP's can't help. Alternative meds *can* help people because it lookes at the causes and not just the symptoms. For example: I have a slipped disk. Nothing will work other than 6 monthly injection which the last 1 didn't work and Ive waited 9 months to get another one. Currently they cannot help other than that, SO I use yoga and excersise to help. Pain meds don't work because of the type of pains I get and Is it's not the type of pain that I wish to take higher pain meds for BECAUSE my pain is only the symptom of my condition which improves with core and relaxation excersises. (To me it's lazy to swallow pills everyday when you can actually DO something to help, why wouldn't you and as DR Frank often points on on here, diet pills and quick fixes don't work, lifestyle changes do, so why would I use what a GP has given me? Nothing but pills when there are *some* things I can do instead) I hear both sides, I use both sides and I use alternative medicine not as an alternative but as a whole healthcare package when it's combined with other practices which includes constant contact with my GP. So again, while there ARE people on here who will be silly and block you just because someone challanges their point (that goes for any board on here, some people are simply rude and nasty lol) doesn't mean the rest of us are like that. I often read your answers and Dr Franks answers on here and indeed take note as well as agree!

Dear friend
As I personally experienced for a long time. I can suggest you these sites:
The best in general CAM fields is surely: http://www.nccam.nih.gov/
And in phytotherapy these two sites are the best: http://www.henriettesherbal.com/
http://www.phytotherapies.org/
In yoga therapy: http://www.yogajournal.com/
And in acupuncture, with other alternative information and news:
http://www.acupuncturetoday.com/
leave me a comment if you want more in other fields also.

Both NaturalNews, Mercola and CureZone are notorious for quoting misinformation. The bloggers on there feel entitled to pass judgement on scientific and medical matters without bothering to obtain a basic understanding of the subject. Why is it more logical to listen to people who have repeatedly demonstrated being incapable of interpreting data and understanding science and evidence?
QuackZone...er...CureZone is heavily regulated and controlled. Anyone who dares to speak a word against AltMed or even question some of the ludicrous claims that are made there are booted out quicker than you can say SCAM! I know this because I've been kicked off CureZone..twice...LOL.
The problem is, many quacks denigrate mainstream medicine and use conspiracy theories as a way to promote their woo. So if you are looking for educated and unbiased on a quack site, you are generally SOL.
There are educated quacks, they aren't all stupid, but most are horribly misguided and illogical.
My advice to you, would be to learn logical and critical thinking, so you are able to weigh up the pros and cons and veracity of claims with rational and scientific thought. This is a vital skill in life and will prevent you falling victim to scams and fear-mongering journalists.
EDIT
@ Lightning: That was a childish attack on Dave, who by the way, has more class and panache than you will ever have in a lifetime.
@ Flashflood: Oh, you should definitly check out CureZone. Say hi to Tony Issac and Luella from us. Luella makes Theresa look almost sane, shes totally off the reservation.

I like the National Library of Medicine (of the National Institute of Health) database (better known as "Pubmed")
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/
{{Contrary to what a lot of folks would like to believe, the government does spend a small fortune every year researching natural substances and alternative therapies - but you might have to get the latin name for herbs to search for them there}}
And the Natural Standard website as well....you have to create a sign in, but its worth it as far as a jumping off point for personal reading - cross reference what you find with Pubmed.

drugs.com is great and they cover many herbs mixing benefits and warnings. Also just by using google with the topic and followed by the word "warnings" or "dangers" or "doctor studies" or "university" or "articles" will pull up good reports.
Edit: Flamehair keep in mind that asking the alt med skeptics here, that question, is like asking a vegetarian for a steak!

I can't say as I care for Mercola although I get his newsletters. I agree that he does seem to push HIS products and that is always a turn-off for me. He does have some good information on other things at times however.
Never been to curezone.com
I like naturalnews.com. Yes he can get political...but that is because that is a big part of the arena that he is fighting in. Fighting fire with fire I guess. When our health freedoms are at stake, what can you expect?
You might check out www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com as a resource for other links to find what you are looking for.

Obviously very difficult to find what you are looking for. I can only suggest the NCCAM website:http://nccam.nih.gov/

I'm really interested to hear what those recommending Mercola's site - especially the person who thinks it's excellent - have to say about some of the claims he makes for his own products (the sale of which seems to be the main reason for the site's existence).
For example, what about his cookware? You know, the only cookware available that won't kill us or make us ill? Have you purchased any of it? Comments?
Natual news is a bastion of quackery without equal; nobody could really rival Mike Adams for misinformation. But Mercola runs him a close second, I think

Curezone, of course, pretty much exists so that people can promote their products. If you have any illusion that it's unbiased, try registering and expressing any view sceptical of alternative medicine. You'll be banned immediately.

It is near impossible to find an alternative health site that isn't selling something.
You could search for 20 years and never find a one.
You could try:
