What's the better kind of Christian?

I think there are two kinds of Christians.

The ones who follow blindly, research nothing, and know very little about their religion’s history. These are the folks who can regurgitate scripture but have no real knowledge of the deep who’s-why’s-where’s-how’s, etc. They do exactly as they are told. However, they are mostly very kind, loving, happy, joyful, easygoing, “Let’s go to Church on Sunday and praise the Lord” kind of folks.

The other kind are the ones who have the knowledge, understand the history, and can still regurgitate scripture, but use it as a weapon. These are the more fundamental, Evangelical, demanding folks. People who consider themselves Warriors for God and/or proselytize.

I know many of you will say: “NEITHER!” and that is a valid answer, however I am asking which is better? Someone who knows nothing about their religion, follows blindly but is happy? Or someone who knows exactly what their religion is/was/does and uses that power?

Lastly, I know there are people who do both – who are intelligent and know the FULL history of Christianity and yet are the “Let’s go to Church on Sunday and praise the Lord” kind of folks who don’t feel the need to push it on everyone else. For those people, I say THANK YOU! But you must admit that most Christians fall into one category or another. I just can’t decide what irritates me more, someone who hasn’t got a clue about the history of their religion or the ones who DO and continue with it anyway.

Okay… bring on the sarcastic answers, I know you’re dying to! :)

The latter group that you describe who use their knowledge for power and lord it over others would be the more irritating. The first group you describe as being kind of ignorant of their religion are also described as being "very kind, loyal, happy and joyful," have at least that going for them which would make them less harmful to others and therefore the "better kind of Christian."

When it comes to Christianity, how would you decide because there are alot of denominations and they attack each other in the name of Jesus Christ , which stinks.

I just depends on the person and how open-minded they really are.
