Can you cook homemade playdough?

I just made some playdough with flour, cooking oil, salt, water, and food coloring. I made little animals out of them and want them to be hard within two days, because I'm giving them away. Can I put them in the oven to harden them, or do I have to wait for them to become hard? Thanx!!! =)

You got it right. Just put them into the oven until the flour mixture becomes hard. They should last for years. The salt preserves them.
